Achieving your perfect new smile is the ultimate confidence booster.
Whether you’ve been thinking for many years about straightening your teeth or you’ve just started your research, we can help you to understand how cosmetic braces could change your life.
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DENTISTRY
General dentistry
General dentistry focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental problems including tooth decay and gum disease.
Cosmetic dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry, meanwhile, enhances the aesthetics of the smile by dealing with things like misalignment, yellowing of the teeth, chips and gaps between the teeth. It includes procedures such as teeth whitening and porcelain veneers.
Unlike some other treatments, cosmetic teeth straightening can also improve your oral health.
Dental health benefits include better oral hygiene – straighter teeth are easier to clean and food is less likely to get trapped.
As a result of this, it makes it harder for plaque to build up and so decreases the risk of gum disease.
Straight teeth can also lead to an improved bite.
Patients who previously experienced headaches or migraines can see improvements after treatment.
COSMETIC BRACES
The fixed, metal braces of decades ago were bulky and noticeable.
Modern fixed braces are far more subtle.
The metal brackets are smaller and the wires more discreet.
Ceramic braces
Ceramic fixed braces use tooth-coloured materials to blend in with your teeth and are even more subtle.
Lingual braces
Lingual braces, meanwhile, are fitted to the back of your teeth so no one need know you’re wearing them.
Invisalign cosmetic braces
Treatment with the Invisalign clear aligner system is often considered to have changed the game.
Patients are given a series of discreet, comfortable, removable plastic teeth-straightening aligners.
They wear each set of custom-made clear aligners for about two weeks before progressing to the next.
The almost-invisible plastic braces are removable, which means you can take them out for eating, drinking liquids other than water and brushing your teeth.
At White & Co. we have years of experience in improving the lives of hundreds of patients with orthodontic and teeth straightening treatments.
